The San Jose Sharks take on the Florida Panthers tonight at BB&T Center.
This is the second game of the Sharks’ six-game road trip; the Bay Area club defeated the Washington Capitals at Verizon Center by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday.
San Jose possesses a 7-6-0 record—Florida, a 6-6-1 record—and this stretch of games will play a large factor in where the Sharks place in the standings come American Thanksgiving.
The Sharks’ lineup is identical to the one iced on Tuesday, with Martin Jones starting in goal and Barracuda call-up Kevin Labanc skating on Logan Couture‘s wing.
Florida will utilize two ex-Sharks in their lineup tonight. Jason Demers will skate alongside Keith Yandle, and former backup James Reimer will be in net.
The Panthers are an injury-struck team at the moment, missing two prominent forwards from the roster.
Jonathan Huberdeau has an achilles injury that will keep him out for three or four months, and Nick Bjugstad is suffering from a broken hand.
Florida is getting some relief tonight, however, as Jaromir Jagr—who left Florida’s last game with a groin injury—and Jussi Jokinen—who suffered a knee injury earlier in the season—are both expected to return to the lineup against San Jose.
