Sharks Hunt First Victory Over Coyotes

The San Jose Sharks face the Arizona Coyotes for the third time this season tonight at SAP Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

San Jose is at the end of a five-game homestand that has seen them go 3-1-0 so far, knocking of the New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders while falling to the Anaheim Ducks.

Though the team is finishing up its longest home stretch of the season, this is the first night of back-to-backs. The Sharks face the Los Angeles Kings tomorrow night at Staples Center.

Martin Jones will start in goal tonight, likely meaning Aaron Dell will start on Wednesday.

This is the third time San Jose will face Arizona in the month of November. The Bay Area organization is 0-1-1 against their rivals from the desert, losing by a score of 3-2 both times.

To the relief of Sharks fans, Melker Karlsson and Marc-Edouard Vlasic are slated to be in the lineup after missing time recently. Matt Nieto is the healthy scratch for tonight’s contest.

The Coyotes have played just three games since their last meeting with the Sharks. They are 2-1-0 in those games and are icing the same lineup they used against San Jose 10 days ago.

Mike Smith will start in net for Arizona.
