Centennial Fan Arena To Hit San Jose This Week

We knew the National Hockey League was going big for the league’s 100th anniversary.  One of the big features is coming to Teal Town on January 18 and 19th.

The NHL Centennial Fan Arena will be a touring tribute to a century of hockey thrills and consist of a number of activities for all hockey fans.

Pop-Up Street Hockey Rink

A pop-up ball hockey rink will give youth hockey players a chance to shine with programmed games and clinics.

Museum Trucks
The main attraction is a 53-foot museum truck with an innovative interior featuring more than 1,000 square feet of interactive digital displays, original video content, historical memorabilia, and unique photo moments. This is one of the best features of the arena tour.

A second 53-foot trailer will host a giant video screen featuring team trivia and highlights, as well as a pop-out stage for special appearances.

Zamboni VR Experience
This never-before-seen VR experience allows fans to compete against each other in a race to resurface the ice.

Fans will take a seat in a mini-Zamboni, feel cool air on their skin and their seat rumble, as they are tasked with creating the perfect sheet of ice – in virtual reality.

All races will be timed and shared on a leaderboard.

Recycle the Game
Get your old gear out of the attic and out of the basement and put it back on the ice where it belongs! All donations of gear will support under-served community hockey programs.

Accepted items include helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, shin pads, gloves, skates, sticks, goalie pads and goalie blockers/gloves.

Look for the hockey net drop-box in every local market.

The Stanley Cup
The oldest and most revered trophy in all professional sports will make a special appearance in every NHL market. Take your pic with Lord Stanley’s Cup!
