Sharks Look to End 2 Game Losing Streak

San Jose Sharks Host The Winnipeg Jets

The San Jose Sharks face off against the Winnipeg Jets today in a holiday matinee at Sap Center looking to end a 2 game skid.

While they have played well all year in front of the teal faithful, the Sharks lost to the St Louis Blues Saturday night 4-0, giving Blues back up goaltender Carter Hutton a shutout, his first of the season. Joe Thornton was given a major penalty and game misconduct for his spear on Paul Stastny in the middle frame of the 2nd period. No disciplinary action has happened to Thornton as of yet, but by the way San Jose folded after Thorntons absence, they are certainly hoping its just a fine.

The Winnipeg Jets are looking to bounce back from a 3-2 OT loss against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center on Saturday night. They are currently missing key forward Patrik Laine due to an injury resulting from a hit from Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe.

All top 6 defensemen skated for the Sharks on Saturday night. Joonas Donskoi did not skate Saturday and is still considered day to day. Tomas Hertl is still recovering from his knee surgery, but was seen wearing a teal jersey at practice, which means his return will hopefully be soon.

Both teams are meeting for the first time this season but San Jose will fly to Winnipeg a week from tomorrow on a second game of back to backs.
