#SharksTweetup Set to Roll Saturday Night

Sharks fans are passionate.  We know this very well.  This can be seen anytime a Sharks game is on and looking online at Twitter.  Sharks fans were becoming a tight knit community on the social media network that it was similar to a big family.  (Hence the hashtag #SharksFam)

What started out as a mutual idea from myself and Comcast Sportsnet producer Robyn Sherwood, has turned out to be something unreal.

Tonight, the 6th annual #SharksTweetup will take place prior to the Sharks – Avalanche game at the Shark Tank.  For those who aren’t aware, a Tweetup is an in-person meeting of Twitter users. It has also become a colloquialism for any in-person networking event organized using social media.

Here’s how we roll.  We will gather on the concourse outside section 118-120/218-219, next to the Sharks Foundation kiosk.  Find me (I’ll be in a Pucknology After Dark shirt) and get one of the infamous buttons with your Twitter handle written on it.  (First 40 people)

6:15pm – Feel free to meet and chat with your fellow Sharks fans, also we highly encourage you to donate to the Sharks Foundation in any form, whether it’s a small donation, auction win, or the 50-50 raffle.

6:50pm –  We will come together in teal for the group shot.  Rumor is that someone special will be there.  So get there before hand.

Join us for a great time!  This is a part of the #SharksSocial Media Night.  Team Teal is having a great interactive night. Upon entering the arena, every fan in attendance will receive their very own #ChiaJumbo pet.

Fans can pop in to one of the gif photo booths located near each entrance and snap a few photos with a virtual Sharks blueliner Brenden Dillon to share instantly to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media accounts.

Several lucky fans will also get to test out their tweeting skills from exclusive access to a Sharks social suite filled with complimentary food and beverages. Stay tuned to the Sharks social media channels leading into Saturday for details on how to be chosen.

But that’s not all. Fans who tag their content with #SharksSocial throughout Saturday night will be treated with multiple opportunities to win Sharks prizes and see their photos on the videoboard.

Last, but not least, there will be an all-new uniquely social media themed opening show. Fans can keep their eyes peeled for more social media accents throughout the night on the videoboard content, as well across all of the Sharks social platforms.
