The San Jose Sharks visit the Vancouver Canucks February 25th
The San Jose Sharks and the Vancouver Canucks, both coming off their bye weeks are in very different positions as far as standings go, the Canucks currently at 26-28-6 with 58 points stand 16 points out of a playoff spot and the Sharks currently sit at the top of the Pacific with two games in hand on the ducks with a record of 35-18-7 for 77 points. The schedule this year has been weird seeing that San Jose currently is done with it season series with the Los Angeles Kings and we are now just beginning ours with Vancouver, who also, are in the Pacific. The Sharks beat the Canucks the first time around by the score of 4-1 in Vancouver. The Sharks look to come off the bye week and surge into the playoffs atop the division and get out of the “slump” of picking up only loser points. The Sharks have also recalled Kevin Labanc, Tim Heed, and Timo Meier form the Barracuda who did their stint down their while the rest of the Sharks had much needed vacation time. This game has no major implications on the standings as Vancouver is pretty far out of the race and the Sharks have a sizable gap, but two points is two points and the Sharks can take off with the division starting here with this game and use it as momentum down the stretch.
